Overview
The Heart Disease and Pregnancy website provides information for patients and physicians about the risks associated with pregnancy and management strategies for pregnant women with heart disease trying to have a baby. Included are educational materials on heart conditions commonly seen in women of childbearing age. Our objective is to improve the care of pregnant women with heart disease and enable women and health care professionals to make informed pregnancy decisions.
The website was developed by an international panel of physicians including internists, cardiologists, obstetricians and other medical specialists with expertise in pregnancy and heart disease. Physicians who were involved in creating this website are listed in the contributors section. Support for this project was provided from the Medical Disorders of Pregnancy Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.
